Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing – Issaquah, WA | $40–$43 per hour
Blazer Jobs is partnering with a respected school district in Issaquah, Washington to hire a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH). This position offers an hourly pay range of $40–$43 and provides the opportunity to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accessing instruction, communication, and academic success within a school-based environment. We are seeking an educator who values inclusivity, collaboration, and individualized instruction.
This position may also be structured as a travel assignment for candidates who live outside the district’s designated commuting radius. In this role, the DHH Teacher will support students across instructional settings, providing specialized instruction aligned with each student’s communication mode and educational goals. Collaboration with general education teachers, special education teams, interpreters, and families is a core component of the position.
Primary responsibilities may include:
• Providing direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Supporting language development, communication access, and academic progress
• Consulting with teachers regarding accommodations and instructional strategies
• Participating in IEP development and implementation
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
• Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with timelines
Candidates must meet all state and federal requirements, including:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
• Valid Washington State teaching certification with DHH endorsement
• Knowledge of IDEA and special education procedures
• Familiarity with various communication modalities
• Ability to pass required background checks
