Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Clarksville, Tennessee
A full-time position is available for an experienced Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students, serving Kindergarten through 12th grade in the Clarksville, TN area. This contract role supports diverse student needs within multiple school settings and requires on-site presence—no remote or hybrid options are offered.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with staff, families, and related service providers.
- Provide communication and auditory skills development tailored to each student’s needs.
- Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Assist in classroom management and promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education license with certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education is required.
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong knowledge of communication strategies, auditory and visual learning techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage a varying caseload and adapt to multiple school environments.
