This position is designed for a dedicated educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Serving a K-12 school community, you will provide essential instructional services to students who are deaf, going deaf, or have limited hearing. This contract role is onsite in Everett, WA, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week and runs from ASAP through June 17, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored educational services to students with hearing impairments.
- Manage a caseload of 15 to 18 students, depending on the assigned position.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Utilize American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency to enhance communication and learning.
- Support student progress through assessment, intervention, and advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Active Washington State Department of Education certification specific to Deaf and Hard of Hearing teaching.
- Master’s Degree in an appropriate field.
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly valued.
