Student-Centered Services

Support learners who are deaf and hard of hearing across all educational levels, focusing on language development, academic content mastery, and social-emotional growth through innovative virtual teaching methodologies and assistive technology integration.

Primary Teaching Functions

• Design and deliver culturally and linguistically responsive instruction
• Implement visual learning strategies and communication accommodations
• Collaborate with interpreters and related service providers
• Support family engagement and communication development
• Monitor academic progress and adjust instructional strategies
• Facilitate peer connections and social skill development opportunities
• Ensure compliance with federal and state special education requirements

Professional Credentials

• Master's degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education or equivalent
• Valid Nevada DHH teaching license or certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• American Sign Language proficiency preferred
• Understanding of deaf community and cultural perspectives
• Strong virtual platform and technology integration skills
