DHH Teacher | Las Vegas, Nevada
A dedicated professional is needed to provide specialized instruction to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a supportive educational setting. This role involves delivering tailored teaching strategies to enhance communication, learning, and development for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Utilize appropriate communication methods including sign language, auditory training, and speech therapy techniques.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and parents to support student progress.
- Monitor student growth and adapt instructional methods to meet varying needs.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities related to hearing loss education.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or Special Education with an emphasis on hearing impairments.
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels.
- Proficiency in sign language preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement specialized instructional plans.
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week.
Job Type: Contract position for the academic school year (NSY).
