This part-time opportunity is designed for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to support K-12 students in an educational setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ hearing and communication needs.
- Provide direct instruction in academic content and language development using strategies aligned with deaf education.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and families to optimize student learning and social integration.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication modalities appropriate for each student.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to program development for deaf and hard-of-hearing services.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure to teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience working with K-12 students with hearing loss.
- Strong knowledge of deaf education methodologies and communication options, including sign language and auditory-oral techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
