Transform DHH education through innovative remote instruction! We're expanding our team of dedicated educators who are committed to providing exceptional virtual learning experiences for students with hearing impairments. This remote teaching position offers the perfect combination of professional fulfillment and work-life balance while advancing the field of deaf education.
Position Description
This remote DHH opportunity allows you to work with students requiring specialized instructional support for hearing impairments through our advanced virtual learning platform. You'll provide individualized education services while building meaningful relationships with students and families across digital environments designed for optimal visual communication.
Join our community of progressive DHH educators who are redefining how deaf and hard of hearing education services are delivered. Our approach combines evidence-based practices with innovative assistive technologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences that meet each student's unique communication and academic needs.
Essential Functions
Your role centers on creating and implementing comprehensive IEPs specifically designed for students with hearing impairments. You'll develop creative virtual lessons that engage DHH students through visual learning strategies, using diverse instructional approaches and multimedia resources to accommodate different communication preferences and hearing levels.
Building strong partnerships with families becomes crucial as you provide regular communication about student progress and educational strategies. You'll facilitate virtual parent meetings, conduct IEP conferences, and collaborate with families to ensure consistency between school and home learning environments while respecting cultural and communication preferences.
Systematic assessment and progress monitoring guide your instructional decisions as you track both academic growth and communication development. You'll maintain detailed documentation of student performance using assessment tools appropriate for DHH students, complete required evaluations, and contribute to educational planning with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Credentials
Successful candidates must hold current New Hampshire DHH teaching certification and possess a Master's degree in Deaf Education or related field from an accredited college or university. We require at least two years of classroom teaching experience specifically with students who have hearing impairments.
Fluency in American Sign Language and understanding of various communication modalities used by DHH students are required. Knowledge of assistive hearing technologies, visual learning principles, and deaf culture awareness will enhance your effectiveness in virtual instruction environments.
While prior virtual teaching experience is advantageous, we welcome DHH educators who are enthusiastic about learning new technologies and adapting their skills to online instruction. Strong computer skills and creativity in using technology for visual instruction will support your success in remote DHH education.
Professional Growth Environment
This remote position provides opportunities for significant professional development through specialized training in virtual DHH instruction techniques and assistive technology integration. You'll participate in ongoing workshops and collaborate with experienced remote DHH educators who share innovative strategies and best practices.
Regular team meetings and professional learning communities help maintain connections with colleagues while providing forums for sharing successes and addressing challenges specific to virtual DHH education. Our mentorship program offers additional support as you develop expertise in remote deaf education instruction.
Access to comprehensive educational resources, visual learning materials, and specialized assistive technology tools enhances your ability to create meaningful learning experiences for DHH students. Dedicated technical support ensures reliable access to all necessary platforms while accommodating the unique technological needs of students with hearing impairments.
