Now Hiring: Pre K-12 Special Education Teachers
Location: Steamboat Springs, CO
Start Date: Beginning of the 2025-26 School Year (Full School Year Contract)
Contract Duration: August 2025 - May 2026
Student Age Range: Pre K-12th grade students
Caseload: K-12 Mod - Severe
About Steamboat Springs:

What You’ll Do:
- Create and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's hearing needs and educational goals.
- Teach academic subjects and communication skills using strategies adapted to students’ hearing levels (e.g., auditory-verbal, sign language, cued speech).
- Support the development of receptive and expressive language, whether through spoken English, American Sign Language (ASL), or other modalities.
- Work closely with general education teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and parents.
- Ensure hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM/DM systems, and other assistive listening devices are working properly.
- Make recommendations for classroom accommodations, such as seating arrangements, captioning, and visual aids.
- Stay informed on current best practices, laws (like IDEA and ADA), and research in the field.
Qualifications:
- Education: You need a bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a Related field
- Licensure: You must have a valid teaching license (either in general or special education) and be willing to apply for licensure in Colorado.
- We are open to working with Alternative licenses and have a wonderful ALT License Program
