Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Arlington, TX
This position offers an opportunity to support students with hearing impairments in an itinerant role within a K-6 educational setting. The focus is on providing specialized instruction and support to children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a public school environment, helping to foster their academic and social development.
Location:
- Mansfield, Texas (On-site position)
- Serving one campus within the district
Role Details:
- Contract duration: January 5, 2026, through May 21, 2026
- Part-time or full-time options available (21-35 hours per week, minimum 3 days)
- Itinerant role supporting students from Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade
- Responsibilities include student evaluations, attending ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, interpreting audiograms, and managing a caseload of students with hearing impairments
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Teaching License required
- Experience working in Texas school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies and support services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instructional services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Conduct evaluations and provide detailed reports to inform educational planning
- Participate in ARD meetings to advocate for student needs and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Interpret audiograms and apply this information to student instruction and support
- Maintain an active caseload and track student progress throughout the school year
