An immediate opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing located in Dallas, TX, to support a PK-6 school campus on a contract basis. This role is essential to providing specialized educational services for students with hearing impairments, ensuring they receive tailored support to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for students with hearing impairments.
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate on individualized education plans.
- Read and interpret audiograms to assess student hearing levels.
- Manage a caseload of students from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade, providing direct educational support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address student needs effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) teaching license issued through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is required.
- School-based experience within Texas is preferred.
- Ability to complete necessary fingerprinting and clearance processes, including verification through the AHCA Clearinghouse or re-fingerprinting if required.
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies tailored for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
