Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Plano, Texas
A part-time teaching opportunity is available for a qualified educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. This contract position serves an itinerant K-12 caseload within a school located in Plano, TX. The assignment is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and will continue through May 22, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across grades K-12
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet students' unique needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to enhance student learning
- Utilize assessment tools to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Comply with all state and federal regulations pertaining to the education of students with hearing impairments
Qualifications:
- Current certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education is required
- Experience working with K-12 students with hearing loss in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload effectively and efficiently
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and teaching strategies for deaf and hard of hearing students is preferred
