An opportunity is available for a full-time Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in Concord, NC, serving approximately 10–12 students in an on-site school setting. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study within a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Special Education services according to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using evidence-based practices
- Develop and implement lesson plans with differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
- Conduct screenings and evaluations as necessary to assess student progress
- Actively participate in the IEP process including presenting levels, setting goals, and determining services
- Monitor and manage classroom behavior effectively
- Maintain detailed and compliant documentation such as notes, summaries, and IEP records
- Communicate clearly and collaboratively with school staff, students, and families
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educator’s License
- Ability to work on-site full-time, adhering to a standard school-based schedule
- Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students preferred
Location: Concord, NC (on-site only)
This contract position involves collaboration with school personnel and families to ensure each student’s educational needs are met in compliance with Special Education standards.
