Teacher of the Deaf in Monroe, NC
A full-time, on-site opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in Concord, NC, supporting approximately 10–12 students. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with hearing impairments.
Responsibilities include delivering Special Education services in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), developing and implementing differentiated lesson plans based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, and conducting necessary screenings and evaluations. The role requires active collaboration with school staff and families to support student success and compliance with Special Education regulations. Maintaining detailed documentation and communicating effectively with all stakeholders are essential components of this position.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educator’s License (must provide a screenshot upon application)
- Experience providing direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting
- Ability to develop and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
- Strong skills in monitoring student progress and classroom behavior management
- Knowledge of Special Education processes, including the development and implementation of IEPs
- Effective communication and collaboration with families, teachers, and support staff
Location: Concord, North Carolina
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, school-based schedule
