A full-time position is available for an on-site Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) in Concord, NC, serving approximately 10–12 students. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study within a supportive and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with school staff and families to address student needs and ensure compliance with Special Education requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Special Education services tailored to individual IEPs using best instructional practices
- Develop and implement lesson plans with differentiated instruction strategies
- Conduct screenings and evaluations as required to assess student needs
- Participate actively in the IEP process, including establishing present levels, setting goals, and managing services
- Monitor student progress and maintain effective classroom behavior management
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation such as notes, summaries, and IEP reports
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families to foster a collaborative learning environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educator’s License (submission of a current license screenshot required)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing within school settings
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, policies, and best practices
- Ability to develop and implement individualized lesson plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Location: Position is based onsite in Concord, NC, following a standard school-based schedule totaling 40 hours per week.
