Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Concord, North Carolina
This full-time, on-site position supports K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing within a structured school environment. The role emphasizes providing specialized instruction and collaborating closely with educators, families, and support staff to promote academic success and meet individual education plans (IEPs).
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Special Education services tailored to IEP goals using evidence-based teaching strategies
- Creating and implementing lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs
- Conducting screenings and evaluations related to student progress and needs
- Actively participating in the IEP development process, including goal-setting and service coordination
- Monitoring student achievements and managing classroom behavior effectively
- Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation as required by educational standards
- Facilitating clear communication among students, colleagues, and families to enhance support systems
Desired qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professional Educator’s License
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements
- Ability to develop differentiated instruction and manage a caseload of approximately 10–12 students
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
