Overview
Blazer Jobs is seeking a skilled and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support students in the Mount Prospect, Illinois area. This itinerant position serves multiple school sites, providing direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The ideal candidate will be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) or possess strong receptive and expressive skills, and will bring a collaborative, student-centered approach to instruction and advocacy.
Compensation

Job Responsibilities
• Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments in accordance with IEP goals
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to ensure classroom accessibility
• Support students in developing communication, self-advocacy, and academic skills
• Conduct hearing and listening checks and adapt instructional materials as needed
• Serve as a liaison among families, audiologists, and school teams to promote consistent support
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and progress monitoring
Requirements
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing required
• Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
• ASL proficiency preferred
• Prior experience in a school-based or itinerant role strongly preferred
