An opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to serve K-12 students in a public school setting. This contract position spans the full school year and is located in Salem, NH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting educational materials to meet their unique needs
 - Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
 - Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes
 - Utilize assistive technology and communication strategies to enhance student engagement
 - Provide support and training to staff regarding accommodations and communication techniques for students with hearing loss
 - Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations
 
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
 - Experience working with K-12 learners in inclusive and resource settings
 - Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL)
 - Ability to design and implement individualized instruction plans
 - Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
 - Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment that supports student success
