Blazer Jobs is now hiring a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time contract opportunity in the Oakland area. This school-based role is an incredible chance to provide critical support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, while enjoying the freedom and structure of a contract position.
As part of a collaborative special education team, you’ll work with students across a variety of educational settings, advocating for their communication access and supporting IEP development and implementation. You'll also have access to our Special Education Advisory Team—made up of experienced education professionals who offer direct support and practical guidance throughout your assignment.

Responsibilities Include

Delivering direct instruction and consultative services for students with hearing impairments

Supporting IEP goals through collaboration with families, staff, and service providers

Adapting materials and environments to meet accessibility needs

Providing training and strategies to general education teachers

Advocating for inclusive practices and equity in communication access
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education
-
Active California teaching credential with appropriate DHH authorization

Familiarity with IEP processes and special education compliance

Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Prior school-based experience is preferred but not required
