Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Tacoma, WA
A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This contract position, based in Tacoma, WA, is designed to support students across all grade levels throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Utilize appropriate communication methods and technologies to enhance learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and related activities
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience teaching K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Knowledge of appropriate instructional techniques, assistive technology, and communication modalities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to assess student needs and tailor educational programs effectively
Location: Tacoma, Washington
Duration: Contract for the current school year (CSY)
