An experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing is sought to support K-12 students in a school setting in Cleveland, TN. This contract position is available for the remainder of the current school year (CSY), offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels
- Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilizing communication strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning and classroom participation
- Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional methods to meet diverse learner needs
- Supporting communication development, social integration, and academic achievement for students with hearing impairments
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or equivalent credentials
- Demonstrated experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in a K-12 educational setting
- Strong knowledge of specialized instructional techniques and assistive listening devices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
