Position Summary:
We’re seeking a committed Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teacher to support one student in Oxford, NJ. The role involves providing specialized instruction, communication access, and supporting the student’s language and academic development. The position is part-time and flexible, ideal for someone experienced in DHH education.
State Requirements / Non-Negotiable Credentials:

Must hold New Jersey state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (oral/aural, sign communication, or equivalent) or eligibility for such certification.

Must hold at minimum a bachelor’s degree (as required for NJ state instructional certification). AllEducationSchools.com+1

Reference requirement: At least one reference from a prior paraprofessional role
Responsibilities:

Provide direct specialized instruction aligned with the student’s IEP

Support communication access (ASL, oral language, or other modes as appropriate)

Monitor and adapt educational material to meet the student’s needs

Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and family to ensure consistency

Maintain accurate documentation of progress

Participate in planning, meetings, and consultations related to the student’s program
