Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing – Full-Time – Park Forest, IL
Sunbelt Staffing is hiring a passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time role in a welcoming and supportive school district in Park Forest, Illinois. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to empower students with hearing impairments through tailored instruction and communication support.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement IEPs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Deliver direct instruction in individual and small group settings using appropriate communication methods (e.g., sign language, oral, total communication)

Modify curriculum and materials to meet hearing and language needs
-
Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, audiologists, interpreters, and other support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion
-
Track and report student progress, participating in IEP meetings and reviews
-
Foster development in communication, self-advocacy, and social-emotional skills
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education

Valid Illinois PEL with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement
-
Experience working with DHH students preferred
-
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
