A school-based opportunity is available for Teachers specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students for the Extended School Year (ESY) program in the Bucks County area, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in center-based or itinerant settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address student needs and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Manage classroom environments or itinerant caseloads in alignment with student requirements.
  • Participate in orientation and setup prior to ESY instructional dates.
  • Maintain punctual and reliable attendance throughout the ESY schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Residence within 35 minutes of assigned work site with dependable transportation.
  • Ability to commit to the full ESY schedule from June 29 to July 30, 2026, Monday through Thursday.
  • Experience working with students exhibiting moderate to severe needs and behaviors.
  • Clear background check and provision of one supervisory reference for DHH-related roles (minimum rating 3.5 if assessed via RefAssure).
  • Understanding of the Pennsylvania DOE credentialing process timeline (approximately 14 days).

Location & Schedule:

  • Positions are available primarily in Lower and Central Bucks County with varying hours between 12 to 24 hours weekly depending on assignment.
  • Student instructional hours typically run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Center-based staff work from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
  • Itinerant staff hours vary by location.
