Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Springfield, Tennessee
This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing within a K-12 setting. The role involves working on-site in schools within the Nashville area, supporting a caseload that spans elementary through high school students, with services tailored to meet individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and resources to promote communication, academic success, and social development.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with school and state regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH).
- Experience levels considered from entry-level (0-2 years) up to seasoned professionals (10+ years).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively advocate for and support student needs.
- Ability to work full time (35 hours per week) on-site within assigned schools.
- Commitment to a contract period from early January through mid-May, following contract confirmation procedures.
