Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) – Port Saint Lucie, FL

Compensation Packages
Local Candidates (Port Saint Lucie area):

Hourly pay range: $39–$45

Weekly take-home: $1,432–$1,567 (based on 36–40 hour weeks)

Full-time school year schedule with weekly direct deposit
Travel Candidates (open to relocation for the assignment):

Hourly pay with base taxable rate plus tax-free housing and meals stipends

Weekly take-home range: $1,432–$1,567 after stipends

Relocation assistance and travel support available

Job Responsibilities

Deliver direct instruction and academic support to students with hearing impairments

Create and implement IEPs in compliance with IDEA and district standards

Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and families to promote student success

Incorporate auditory/oral, sign language, and assistive technology strategies as appropriate
-
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for student progress
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
-
Valid Florida teaching certification with DHH endorsement (or eligibility)
-
Understanding of IDEA regulations and IEP processes
-
Strong collaboration and communication skills
-
Ability to pass state and district background checks
