Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Venice, Florida
A K-12 educational setting is seeking a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide specialized instruction and support for students with hearing impairments. This position is a full-time contract through June 1, 2026, offering an opportunity to impact a diverse student population with varying needs.
Responsibilities include delivering direct educational services and consultations tailored to students who are eligible for Deaf/Hard of Hearing services. The caseload consists of approximately 12 students receiving direct instruction and 7 consultative cases. Students served range from preschool age through 22 years old and may have multiple disabilities. Classroom environments vary from general education settings to Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs, requiring adaptability and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students who have hearing impairments
- Ability to accommodate multiple disabilities and diverse educational environments
- Skill in both direct instruction and consultative support roles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school personnel
