This opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator specializing in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a K-12 school setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to support student success
- Utilize assistive technology and communication strategies, including sign language or other appropriate methods, to enhance learning outcomes
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive education plans
- Advocate for students and promote awareness and understanding of Deaf and Hard of Hearing needs within the school community
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with K-12 students with hearing loss in educational settings
- Knowledge of Deaf culture, communication methods, and assistive technologies
