DHH Teacher (Itinerant, K–12)
Role: Provide direct/consult services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple campuses. Split travel with a small DHH team.
You’ll do:

Teach to IEP goals using ASL and/or auditory–oral approaches (push-in/pull-out).

Adapt gen-ed content and track progress; write clear reports.

Coordinate access: interpreters/CART/captioning; check AT (hearing aids, FM/DM).

Collaborate with teachers, SLPs, audiology, families; join IEP meetings.

Travel between sites; keep schedules, service logs, and documentation tight.
Must-haves:
-
Active NYS Teacher of the Deaf certification.

ASL proficiency for direct instruction and team collab.

School-age experience (any K–12).
Nice-to-haves:
-
Itinerant/BOCES experience; audiology/AT know-how.

Evidence-based literacy/math strategies for DHH learners.

Bilingual English/ASL.
Logistics:

School-year calendar; typical day 1–3 campuses.

Mileage/time per BOCES policy; frequent driving.
