This part-time position is designed for a dedicated Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, specializing in supporting students through interpreting services. The role is contract-based for the current school year and requires onsite presence in Arlington Heights, IL.

Key Qualifications:

  • Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license mandatory
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Experience working as an interpreter or providing direct support for deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting and teaching services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop individualized educational plans to support students’ academic and communication goals
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and specialists to facilitate inclusion and accessibility
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory requirements
