Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our educational team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a school-based environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families to help each student reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct, individualized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs based on student-specific goals and needs

Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, specialists, and family members

Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet communication and learning needs

Utilize appropriate communication methods (e.g., ASL, auditory/oral, total communication)

Track student progress and document outcomes regularly
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field

Valid California teaching credential with authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students is preferred

Proficiency in relevant communication strategies (ASL, cued speech, oral approaches)

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
