Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Los Angeles, CA
An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to work within a K-12 school setting in Los Angeles, CA. This contract position runs through the current school year, offering a full-time role supporting students from infancy through 22 years of age.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instructional support to a caseload of approximately 35 students with hearing impairments.
- Deliver early intervention services tailored to infants, including IFSP-related activities.
- Conduct consultations and participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Collaborate with program staff and leverage available supports to enhance student outcomes.
- Work in an itinerant capacity, providing onsite services across multiple locations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a valid California Teaching Credential, specifically an Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Authorization.
- Demonstrated experience working with infants and familiarity with IFSP processes.
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and maintain effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Location: Los Angeles, California (Onsite, Itinerant)
