A full-time, on-site teaching opportunity is available for an experienced educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students within a K-12 school setting in Concord, NC. The role centers on delivering specialized instruction and support to approximately 10–12 students, ensuring they receive high-quality educational services tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Special Education services in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that are aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study while differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to inform student progress and support requirements.
- Actively participate in the IEP process, contributing to the development of present levels, goals, and service delivery plans.
- Monitor student academic and behavioral progress, managing classroom environments effectively.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including notes, summaries, and IEP records.
- Communicate professionally and collaboratively with school staff, students, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professional Educator’s License (submission of an active license screenshot required).
- Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, practices, and IEP compliance.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans within a collaborative team setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
