Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a school-based setting. This role includes collaboration with general education teachers, interpreting services, and participation in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs

Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families
-
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data and feedback

Facilitate access to the general education curriculum

Promote communication skills through appropriate modalities (e.g., American Sign Language, auditory/oral methods, total communication)
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field

Valid California teaching credential authorizing service for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students

Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (preferred)

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
