Teacher of the Deaf in Schnecksville, PA
A licensed Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is needed to support educational programs within Carbon and Lehigh Counties, PA. This full-time contract position, aligned with the school calendar, offers an opportunity to contribute to specialized instruction for K-12 students in a collaborative educational environment.
Location: Carbon & Lehigh County, Pennsylvania
Job Type: Contract (CSY)
Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week
Assignment Duration: ASAP – June 12, 2026 (tentative; follows school schedule)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instructional programs tailored for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Create and maintain an effective classroom environment promoting accessibility and engagement.
- Support special education initiatives focused on hearing-impaired learners within district schools.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification in Special Education with a focus on Hearing Impaired.
- Demonstrated experience teaching deaf and hard of hearing students across K-12 grade levels.
- Proven ability to develop specialized instructional materials and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
