Requirements

Valid Pennsylvania DHH teaching certification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

Ability to meet all Pennsylvania Department of Education and district employment requirements

School-based experience preferred

Experience supporting students with hearing loss across educational settings

Ability to pass:

PA background check

FBI fingerprinting

Child abuse clearance

Responsibilities
-
Provide direct instruction and specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers

Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals

Support communication access, language development, and academic progress

Monitor and document student performance and progress

Consult with families and school teams regarding student needs
