Role Summary
As a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in Seattle, WA, you will provide individualized instruction and communication support to students with hearing loss, ensuring they can fully engage in their education and develop strong language skills in inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities
• Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with the IEP team
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies based on communication preferences and educational needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation of student progress and services
Requirements (Washington)
• Valid Washington certification to teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Familiarity with multiple communication methods; ASL proficiency preferred
• Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
