An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational support within a K-12 school setting in Kent, WA. This full-semester contract position involves working with a diverse caseload of approximately 20-35 elementary and secondary students, delivering services in an itinerant capacity. The role requires a dedicated professional with experience and licensure in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across elementary and secondary grade levels.
  • Manage a caseload of 20-35 students, assessing needs and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Provide services on multiple school campuses, maintaining regular visits to each location.
  • Utilize an on-site office within the administrative building for planning and coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and related service providers to optimize educational outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing license.
  • ESA certification or equivalent educational service authorization.
  • Experience working in itinerant roles serving students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and work independently across multiple locations.

Location & Schedule:

  • Position based in Kent, WA within a local K-12 school district.
  • On-site work required with approximately 0.6 FTE schedule (3 days per week), with potential flexibility.
  • Full semester contract through June 17, 2026.
