Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Seattle, Washington
An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing serving K-12 students near Issaquah, WA. This full-semester contract position runs from ASAP through June 17, 2026, with a current commitment of 0.6 FTE (approximately 3 days per week). The role is itinerant, supporting a caseload of approximately 20-35 elementary and secondary students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique communication needs of each student.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Provide resources and training to parents and staff regarding hearing loss accommodations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) license.
- Education Staff Associate (ESA) certification.
- Experience working with diverse K-12 student populations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload effectively.
Location:
- Near Issaquah, Washington, servicing both elementary and secondary schools in the Seattle area.
