Join Our Team: School Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher Smithfield, NC
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join a supportive school team in Smithfield, North Carolina. This full-time, onsite position will serve a K-12 caseload, providing direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the IEP team
-
Use various communication methods including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and assistive technology

Support students in both general education and special education settings
-
Collaborate with families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other school staff
-
Monitor and document student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
-
Active North Carolina DHH certification or eligibility to obtain
-
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred

Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
-
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
