A full-time Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) is needed to support K-12 students in a school setting located in Ooltewah, Tennessee. This contract position runs through the current school year, starting as soon as possible through May 21, 2026, with onsite work only—no virtual or hybrid options are available. The role involves working directly within the school environment to address the educational needs of students with hearing impairments across various grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring their educational needs are met in accordance with their individual education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate communication and learning.
- Follow students' individualized schedules and caseloads, adapting to their unique needs and educational settings.
- Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Stay informed about best practices and updates in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with children from kindergarten through 12th grade.
