A full-time teaching position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students in the Chattanooga area. This onsite role requires an active Tennessee Department of Education certification and offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic school district serving a diverse student population. The contract assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 21, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Follow and accommodate students’ schedules throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized educational plans.
- Adjust teaching methods to meet student communication and learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience levels considered range from entry-level (0-2 years) to seasoned educators with over 10 years in the field.
- Ability to begin immediately and work onsite full-time (37.5 hours/week).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and inclusive education practices.
- Must be available to work exclusively onsite—hybrid or remote options are not available.
Location:
- Chattanooga area, Tennessee (Hixson vicinity).
- Assignment may include supporting multiple schools based on caseload.
