DHH Teacher | Joelton, Tennessee
A full-time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing position is available to serve K-12 students in the Nashville area, beginning January 5 through May 20, 2026. This is a contract assignment designed to support student needs across multiple school locations, with hours totaling 35 per week. The role requires an active Tennessee DOE certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, tailoring supports based on individual student needs each term. The caseload spans a diverse age range from kindergarten through 12th grade. Flexibility across assigned schools will be necessary to meet program goals.
Key qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid Tennessee DOE certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with children across K-12 age groups
- Ability to design and implement individualized educational plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to promoting language development and academic success for deaf/hard of hearing students
This position is on-site with no remote or hybrid options. Assignments will be confirmed through the purchasing department once contracted.
Competitive compensation will be based on experience:
- $40-$43 per hour for entry-level professionals (0-2 years)
- $43-$46 for 3-5 years of experience
- $46-$49 for 6-9 years of experience
- $49-$52 for 10+ years in the field
