This opportunity is for a full-time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade in the Nashville area suburb near Ashland City, TN. The position is contracted through the end of the 2025–2026 school year, with an expected start date as soon as possible. The role supports diverse learners across multiple schools within the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, delivering specialized instruction and services tailored to student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to deaf and hard of hearing students from K-12.
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) based on assessments and student requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, audiologists, and related service providers to ensure inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Participate in meetings with families and school teams regarding student development and services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience teaching K-12 students with varying degrees of hearing loss preferred.
- Ability to manage a caseload that may vary by assignment.
- Willingness to complete necessary background checks and fingerprinting through the school district.
- Strong communication and organization skills to coordinate services across multiple schools.
Location and Schedule:
- Onsite position located in the Nashville suburban area near Ashland City, Tennessee.
- Full-time schedule, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Competitive pay is offered with rates based on experience:
- Starting from $40-$43 per hour for 0-2 years of experience.
- Up to $49-$52 per hour for those with 10+ years of relevant experience.
