Job Description:
Join a collaborative and student-focused team as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist in Summerville, SC, for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time, onsite position involves working directly with K–12 students to ensure equitable access to education through specialized instruction, accommodations, and support services.
As a DHH Specialist, you will play a key role in developing effective communication strategies and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes both academic and social success for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across K–12

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs

Monitor progress and adapt instruction and accommodations as needed

Foster inclusive learning environments that support communication and engagement

Collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and other service providers

Maintain clear and consistent communication with families regarding student progress
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree or higher in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field – Required

South Carolina state teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain) – Required

Previous experience supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in school settings

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
