Position Overview:
ProCare Therapy is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a full-time, onsite position in the Tacoma, WA area. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction and support for students with hearing loss across a range of educational settings. This position runs ASAP through June 16, 2026 and offers a 37.5-hour work week.

Setting: Continuum of special education and general education environments
Qualifications:

Valid Washington State teaching certificate with a Special Education or Deaf Education endorsement (DHH or ESA)

Must be fingerprinted through OSPI

Experience in aural habilitation required

Demonstrated ability to provide specialized instruction and collaborate within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:

Valid Washington State teaching certificate with a Special Education/Deaf Education endorsement

Demonstrated subject matter knowledge and teaching skills in each core academic subject per NCLB highly qualified definitions

Prior experience providing special education services to students with hearing loss

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and related service providers

Familiarity with current special education laws, IEP procedures, and research-based instructional strategies
Candidate Profile:
The successful applicant will possess strong communication, collaboration, and teaming skills, along with a passion for serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Experience supporting students across multiple grade levels and educational settings is strongly preferred.
