Blazer Jobs is seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) or ESA-certified educator with expertise in aural habilitation for a full-time, onsite role in Acoma, WA. This position plays a critical role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing loss across both general and special education settings.

What You’ll Do:

Provide aural habilitation and specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Deliver services across a continuum of educational settings

Collaborate with general and special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff
-
Participate actively in IEP development and implementation
-
Foster communication-rich learning environments tailored to individual student needs
-
Support families and teams in understanding hearing loss and appropriate accommodations
Required Qualifications:
-
Valid Washington State ESA certificate OR Teaching Certificate with a Deaf Education or Special Education Endorsement

Demonstrated experience in aural habilitation and working with students with hearing loss
-
Must be fingerprinted through OSPI prior to assignment
-
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
-
Comfortable working 100% onsite in a school-based setting
Preferred Qualifications:

Subject matter knowledge and teaching skills aligned to NCLB highly qualified standards

Prior experience providing special education services in both general and special education environments
-
Knowledge of research-based strategies and up-to-date special education regulations
-
A team-first mindset with a deep commitment to inclusive and accessible education
