We’re seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a supportive district team in Tacoma, WA for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful instruction and advocacy for students with hearing impairments across K–12 grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services for students with hearing impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure inclusive learning
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assist with the use of assistive technology and communication devices
- Maintain professional documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Master’s Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students
- Active Washington State Teaching Certification in Deaf Education
- Prior experience supporting students with hearing impairments preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to serve students across multiple school sites (itinerant schedule may apply)
- Must pass background and fingerprint checks
