Position: Remote Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Location: Florida (Middleburg area) – Middle School setting
Duration: Contract (School Year)
Schedule: 3 hours per day, 5 days per week
Age Group: Kindergarten through 8th Grade
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized telehealth instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting techniques to meet individual learning needs remotely
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams
- Monitor student progress and maintain communication with parents and school staff to support academic and social development
- Utilize technology tools proficiently to provide effective remote learning experiences
- Adhere to all district policies, including timely completion of fingerprinting and background checks
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement for Deaf and Hard of Hearing instruction
- Experience working with students in K-8 settings, preferably in virtual or telehealth formats
- Ability to complete district-required fingerprinting within 5 days of assignment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills conducive to remote teaching environments
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and educational software for remote instruction
