Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT)
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
We are currently hiring a certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our team in Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area. This position is focused on providing individualized support and instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring access to education and promoting language development in an inclusive setting.
Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in one-on-one or small group settings

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the IEP team
-
Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet each student’s communication and learning needs

Work closely with general education staff, families, and support personnel to promote student success

Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and services provided
Requirements:

Valid certification from the Virginia Department of Education to teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Knowledge of various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), preferred

Experience working with diverse student populations

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Commitment to inclusive education practices
