A full-time opportunity is available to serve as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing for an elementary school setting located in the Virginia Beach area. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, addressing their educational and communication needs.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Use appropriate teaching strategies and assistive technologies to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Virginia Department of Education teaching certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education; provisional certification will be accepted.
- Experience working with K-5 students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs within a small caseload.
